I volunteer because I believe education, opportunity, and belonging should not be determined by a person’s language, background, income, or circumstances. Much of my service focuses on marginalized communities whose voices and experiences are too often overlooked, including multilingual and immigrant families, underserved students, and people impacted by incarceration. Whether I am teaching, editing, mentoring, advocating, or simply showing up to serve, my goal is to help create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and empowered. For me, volunteering is not just about giving back, it is about using my time, skills, and education to help expand access and amplify voices that deserve to be heard.
